Hytta.ai ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered guest chat service for vacation rental hosts. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. What we collect

From hosts (you):

• Email address and password (for your account)
• Property details you enter (address, house manual, custom info)
• Usage data (pages visited, features used)

From guests:

• Chat messages sent through the Hytta.ai chat widget
• No personal accounts, emails, or phone numbers are collected from guests

Automatically:

• Publicly available local area data (restaurants, attractions, ski conditions) gathered to enrich your property's knowledge base

2. How we use your data

• To provide the guest chat service and generate AI responses
• To build and maintain your property's local knowledge base
• To improve the service during the beta period
• To communicate with you about your account and the service

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. AI processing

Guest chat messages and your property information are sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) to generate responses. These providers process data under their own data processing agreements and do not use your data to train their models.

4. Where your data is stored

All data is stored on servers located in Europe. We use Supabase (self-hosted) for our database and authentication.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Chat logs are retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict processing

7. Cookies

We use minimal cookies: a session cookie for authentication and a language preference cookie. No third-party tracking cookies.
